The name “La Mesa” is of Spanish origin and translates to “The Table” in English. Our inspiration is drawn from holidays and other celebrations where large groups of family and/or friends gather around the table and trade stories, share their lives and enjoy fun and memorable times. La Mesa is a place to gather with coworkers, catch up with friends or to enjoy a great meal with someone special. Our casual yet contemporary atmosphere, eclectic cocktail selection and exciting food choices make us one of the hottest spots in the city.

La Mesa Grill & Cantina is located in Historic Five Points South, in Birmingham Alabama. Our restaurant, tapas bar and cantina are open for dinner only Tuesday - Friday and lunch & dinner on Saturdays. Our Latin inspired menu provides guests the opportunity to enjoy traditional Spanish cuisine and specialty cocktails at our tapas bar or to enjoy a comfort style meal and a glass of unique wine or beer in the cantina or on our one of a kind patio.

La Mesa affords patrons the opportunity to enjoy great tasting and healthy food as well as the widest selection of mojitos and specialty drinks in the city. We offer an extensive wine list made up of great tasting value wines by the glass and reserve features by the bottle only. Our bottled beer selection consists of over 20 options that are familiar, but not common. These are the ingredients that make guests run to our table and not want to leave once they get here.
